There has been fighting now for three days, the people have been victorious by uniting in their common cause for their liberty. Many of my friends fought in the conflict, but I myself did not. I was busy protecting the collections in the Louvre from looters and the rioters, and now everything is safe.

There was a lot of smoke and confusion as there always is in war. Dead bodies and wounded on the ground, but people of different social and economical classes combined in the struggle which ensured success.This unity meant victory for democracy.
My name is Delacroix. I am a painter in Paris and was born on 26th April 1798. My painting of Liberty Leading the People was painted in 1830 and exhibited at the salon in 1831.
